How I Interpret Dreams

Dream interpretation is an art. Over the years, I have developed my own approach, which combines elements of various dream theories, symbolism, and intuition.

Symbols and Archetypes: I start by identifying the symbols in your dream. These are common themes, images, or characters that appear across different people’s dreams and often carry a universal meaning.

For example, water often symbolizes emotions, and a house might represent the self.

Context: Next, I consider the context in which these symbols appear. The setting, the interactions, and your emotions during the dream are all crucial for understanding its meaning.

Personal Associations: Finally, I consider your personal associations with the symbols in your dream. For example, a dog might be a symbol of loyalty for many people, but if you have a fear of dogs, it could represent something entirely different for you.

By combining these three elements, I aim to provide an interpretation that is as personalized and accurate as possible.

Disclaimer

Please remember, I am not a psychologist. My interpretations are based on years of personal experience and study, and are meant for guidance and entertainment purposes only.

Dreams are highly individual, and my interpretations may not always resonate with your personal experiences or feelings. Always trust your own intuition and, if needed, seek professional advice.

  1. I was in some beautiful perfume shop and I ordered few things, including the perfume I loved when I was much younger and I still love it – it was tge perfume “Je reviens” (I’ll be back). (I can’t find it in the shops these days). I was very excited about the purchase. When I came to the checkout, I realized that instead of perfume I got some big bottle, like a bottle of champaigne. I was upset and started protesting. A very nice and friendly lady came to help me and I finally got my beloved perfume.

    • It sounds like your dream is reflecting a beautiful journey down memory lane, filled with nostalgia and positive emotions! The perfume shop represents a space in your life where you can revisit and cherish your beautiful memories, especially those from your younger days.

Choosing the “Je reviens” perfume, which means “I’ll be back” in French, symbolizes your desire to reconnect with those happy moments from the past and keep them alive in your heart.

The mix-up at the checkout with the big bottle represents a small hiccup or misunderstanding in life. But don’t worry, as the friendly lady who comes to your aid symbolizes the support and guidance you have around you.

This dream is encouraging you to remember that even if things don’t go as planned, there are kind and helpful people in your life ready to assist you in getting back on track.

You have the ability to overcome obstacles and reclaim your joy, just like you did in the dream when you finally got your beloved perfume!

  2. I encountered a smallish chubby dog, maybe a stray, it had a round flat face and was creamy with brown patches, at first it was a bit aggressive, barking and unhappy. I approached it and reached inside it’s mouth, it opened very wide and I could see all the way inside, the dog was hollow. Inside there were several pairs of scissors, maybe 4 pairs and different sizes, which it had eaten, my dream-self felt the dog had been so hungry that it had swallowed anything it could find in desperation, I removed all the scissors and the dog was no longer angry and seemed to be feeling love for me, I looked for some food but all I could find was custard cream biscuits which in my waking life I never buy or eat, I offered them to the dog and it nibbled a little then looked me in the eyes as if to say ‘am I really allowed to eat these?’ then it ate them and was happy, I felt deep love for the dog and a little while later I again reached inside it’s open mouth to remove other junk, pieces of paper and sweet wrappers etc. it had previously eaten, again I wanted to give it some food but couldn’t find suitable dog food or meaty food, I think I offered it some breakfast cereal, the dog was happy and loving and when it went away I wished to find it again as I felt such love for it, I think it was a male dog.

    • This dream is a beautiful representation of your caring and compassionate nature. Encountering the small, chubby dog symbolizes an opportunity for you to showcase your kindness and ability to bring positive change to situations around you.

The dog’s initial aggression and the discovery of scissors inside its mouth highlight a challenge that is turned into a positive experience through your determination to help.

By removing the scissors and offering the dog food, even if it’s not something you usually have like custard cream biscuits, you demonstrate your adaptability and willingness to provide comfort and support, no matter the circumstances.

This act of kindness transforms the dog’s behavior, showcasing a change from anger to love, and highlights your capability to create positive connections and spread happiness. The dream leaves you with a feeling of deep love and a desire to continue helping, which reflects your genuine and empathetic personality.

Overall, this dream illustrates your power to heal, connect, and spread joy, making the world a better place one kind act at a time.

      • Thank you for your interpretation but I feel you have overlooked several important aspects: The dog is representitive of something, it could have been any creature or a human but it was a dog, possibly symbolic of loyalty for example, I’m not a dog person, have never owned a dog, I prefer cats. The dog was completely hollow, like a balloon, again this must symbolize something. The scissors were not in the dog’s mouth they were deep inside, where you would expect them to be in a hollow thing, at the lowest point so I had to reach deep inside all the way to the bottom to fish them out. And the scissors are tools of division, again they must represent something otherwise it could be any old item inside the dog. A hollow dog with several pairs of scissors inside making it unhappy.. scissors inside a dog may hint towards divided loyalties or the removal of them the removal of those divisions or possibility of division.. however I actually have no idea myself because such an interpretation doesn’t seem to fit with my life so I think it must mean something else. Then there is the inappropriate food offered to the dog, even though my dream-self was aware that custard creams are not suitable and tried to find meaty food.. the wrong food must also have some meaning. Then there is the dog’s reaction, of feeling unworthy to be offered something delicious and being fearful to eat, unsure whether it was allowed or not.
